Overview
SIGMA is a market leader in the insurance industry in Albania and Kosovo, offering non-life insurance products including motor vehicle, property, and health insurance. Established in 1999 and part of Vienna Insurance Group since 2007, SIGMA engaged DataMax to automate their invoice processing to increase efficiency, eliminate errors, and free capacity.
Challenge
Invoice processing at Sigma was labor-intensive and inefficient. Every month, the accounting department spent around 10 person-days manually processing invoices — data entry, matching purchase orders, and capturing relevant details. The process was slow, prone to human error, and demoralizing for the team.
Approach
We deployed AI models locally on Sigma's own infrastructure to meet internal data security and compliance policies, ensuring all processing remained on-site.
Solution
We developed and deployed an AI Agentic system using Python and locally hosted Generative AI and ML models. The solution automatically reads and extracts critical data from a variety of invoice formats, matches them with relevant purchase orders, and populates the necessary fields directly into Sigma's accounting system.
