A pioneering mental health startup in the Balkan region set out to democratise access to quality mental healthcare — regardless of cultural background, language, or location. To enable this vision at scale, DataMax developed an intelligent AI-based matching platform that handles the complexities of personalised therapeutic relationships and was designed to grow from hundreds to thousands of patients without sacrificing match quality.
Herausforderung
Traditional therapist-patient matching relies on manual processes and basic filters, leading to misaligned pairings, high patient dropout rates, and poor treatment outcomes. The complexity multiplies when accounting for cultural background, language preferences, specific mental health issues, therapy approaches, and scheduling across time zones — dimensions that manual matching simply cannot optimise simultaneously.
Vorgehen
We deployed multiple specialised agents in concert, each targeting a distinct compatibility dimension: semantic understanding of mental health needs, cultural compatibility, experience-to-complexity alignment, and dynamic scoring that adapts to case urgency.
Lösung
The system uses four agent types: semantic analysis agents that understand complex mental health needs; cultural compatibility agents for cross-cultural matching; experience-complexity agents that ensure appropriate therapist expertise levels; and dynamic scoring agents that reweight criteria based on case complexity and urgency. The platform processes real-time availability, cultural backgrounds, therapeutic approaches, and patient preferences to generate personalised recommendations. Agents continuously learn from successful pairings and patient outcomes, improving matching intelligence over time. Supports 16+ languages and global timezone coordination.
