Accelerating Climate Innovation at Greenlyte — Building an AI-Powered Data Platform for Direct Air Capture
Built a real-time data lakehouse with AI-driven predictions to accelerate Greenlyte's carbon capture R&D cycles.
Überblick
Greenlyte Carbon Technologies is a pioneering startup in Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology. DataMax partnered with Greenlyte to build a modern data lakehouse platform that captures real-time sensor data from their pilot plants, enables advanced analytics, and leverages AI to predict experimental outcomes — accelerating the path from laboratory innovation to industrial-scale climate solutions.
Herausforderung
Greenlyte's pilot facilities generate vast amounts of real-time sensor data — flow rates, humidity, temperature, and pressure across multiple CO₂ absorption and hydrogen production stages. Data lived in different systems, making it time-consuming to bring together for analysis. Each experiment had to complete before the team could review results and start the next one. With ambitious goals to scale from pilot to commercial deployment, they needed a platform that would unify all data sources, spot patterns across experiments, and predict outcomes earlier.
Vorgehen
We architected a modern data lakehouse on AWS S3 Tables and Lake Formation as a scalable foundation for both real-time streaming and historical analysis, with AI predictive models to eliminate the wait between experiment cycles.
Lösung
The platform ingests real-time sensor data from plant operations, capturing flow rates, humidity, temperature, and pressure continuously. AI models built in AWS SageMaker Unified Studio predict experimental outcomes based on initial conditions and live sensor readings — enabling data-informed decisions about next-stage experiments without waiting for completion. AWS Glue and Step Functions orchestrate the pipelines, and the lakehouse architecture delivers fast query performance for real-time monitoring alongside deep historical analysis.
Ergebnisse
"The successful deployment of Greenlyte's modern data platform was driven by the exceptional contributions of the DataMax team. They were pivotal, demonstrating deep technical knowledge and executing the AWS architecture with remarkable efficiency. Their approach was exceptionally detailed and context-oriented, precisely tailoring the Lakehouse foundation to meet the high demands of our real-time R&D cycles. With this new robust infrastructure, we are better equipped to make the right data-driven decisions in our mission to combat climate change."
