aidhere is a market leader in digital health applications for the holistic treatment of diseases. To enable practical, data-driven health scenarios that integrate into patients' daily routines, DataMax constructed a highly adaptable data platform that scales dynamically, spans multiple compute locations, and guarantees reliability — all while maintaining compliance with German regulatory requirements for healthcare apps.
Herausforderung
aidhere wanted to harness data and advanced analytics to deliver seamless digital health experiences. This required navigating multiple challenges simultaneously: managing diverse data sources, securing sensitive health data under German healthcare regulations, handling various data types, and balancing performance with cost efficiency.
Vorgehen
We built a cloud infrastructure specifically tailored for running Airflow ETL pipelines in the healthcare context, with automated deployment, separate dev/prod environments, and integrated monitoring and alerting.
Lösung
We implemented a scalable, reproducible cloud infrastructure on Open Telecom Cloud (OTC) using Kubernetes and Terraform for automated, cost-effective provisioning. Apache Airflow was deployed for data ingestion and pipeline orchestration, with integrated monitoring and alerting to notify the team when data is ready. We built robust processes for fetching and enriching data from multiple external sources, migrated existing code to Airflow, and added Metabase for analytics visibility. dbt and dlt were used for data transformation and loading.
